Postal Servicestamp price increasefinancial stability
The U.S. Postal Service is proposing to increase the cost of a first-class stamp from 68 cents to 73 cents, contributing to an overall 7.8% rate increase scheduled for July 14.

The Postal Service has requested a rate increase, pending approval from the Postal Regulatory Commission, aimed at financial stability. This includes raising first-class stamp prices as well as prices for postcards, metered letters, and international mail. Additionally, adjustments on special services like money order fees and certified mail are proposed, with reductions in postal insurance costs and no increase in post office box rentals.
