The US has seized a Boeing 747, illegally sold by Iran's sanctioned Mahan Air to a Venezuelan firm, violating export control laws and benefiting Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The Justice Department announced that the cargo plane, previously owned by Iran's Mahan Air and sold to Venezuela's state-owned Emtrasur in violation of US export controls, has been seized and arrived in Florida for disposition. This aircraft had been subject to US restrictions due to Mahan Air's alleged support for Iran's Revolutionary Guard. The sale, done without US authorization, also involved another sanctioned entity, emphasizing the complexities of international export controls and sanctions enforcement.
